Always check with the manufacturer's instructions before fitting a larger wattage bulb to your lamp. The bulb filament size and shape combined with the reflector design determine the concentration of a focused beam. for example- a vertical filament bulb will give a circular spot beam- whilst a horizontal filament will give a slightly oval spot.
