The Equistop Hobbyguard battery energiser is fast building itself a reputation as one of the most reliable and easy to operate electric fence energisers currently on sale in Great Britain. It can be used for everything from protecting gamebirds and poultry from the advances of vermin to strip grazing sheep and cattle. Made in germany, the equistop hobbyguard offers much more power than other models in its price range, like the Hotline Shrike Unit, the PEL 5 and the Gallagher B10.

To use this energiser, simply tread the earth spike and support bracket into the ground as far as they will go. Ideally, you will be able to choose a damp area to position your unit, as this will improve its ability to earth effectively. If you are forced to set up your equistop hobbyguard on dry ground, Solway Feeders recommends that you consider buying an additional earth stake to be certain that your unit will be properly earthed. Insert four "d cell" batteries (not inluded) into the energiser and attach the earth and fence connection leads. Slide the energiser gently onto the support bracket until it clicks into place, then connect the earth lead to the metal part of the earth stake and the fence lead to the fence line, making sure that the crocodile clips have a strong connection.
