Electric fencing is very effective at keeping birds in and unwelcome predators out. Netting kits are available in 16, 25 and 50 metre lengths and can be combined to achieve the required distance of netting. Ensure the energiser chosen is powerful enough for your application; why not include a hot gate to allow easy access without having to turn off the power. All Solway Feeders energiser / netting kits contain an energiser which is more than adequate to power the length of net included in the kit. The nets are constructed from durable polypropylene with conductive steel wires woven through. The bottom section of the net isn’t electrified helping prevent ‘shorting out’ with foliage growth.
Strip grazing can be achieved by the use of electric fencing tape or poly wire. Insulators will be required if electric fencing posts aren’t used.
Energisers are available for either mains or battery power. The Gemini dual power range comes with a three year manufacturers’ warranty. If using as a mains energiser, lead out cable will be required from the electricity source to the energiser. You will need an earth stake unless the energiser unit has a built in stake.
Using release pen netting is an economical method for pen construction; it can be used on its own or in conjunction with galvanised wire netting. Made from strong polypropylene and available as either rigid 20x25mm mesh or jumbo mesh size 45 x 50mm. Both mesh sizes are available in three heights and 100 metre rolls.
Solway Feeders stock a wide range of sizes for aviary netting. The netting is manufactured from strong, stranded polypropylene and is ideally suited for pen roofs or fruit cages. Mesh sizes range from ¾” to 11/2”
