A Guide to Bit Compatibility

This guide aims to help you decide which bits to use on your birds as they grow and develop. It applies mainly to pheasants, but some of the larger bits are often quite handy for chickens and other species of poultry, particularly when close confinement brings about feather pecking.

 

One to three weeks old: A Size Bits

One to four weeks old: A Size Bitfitter Bits

Eighteen days to seven weeks old: B Size Bitfitter Bits

Three to six weeks old: B Size Bits

Three to six weeks old: Chunky B Size Bitfitter Bits (with added flexibility)

Six weeks onward: C Size Bits

Six to twelve weeks: Maxi Bitfitter Bits

Six to eight weeks: Bio Bitfitter Bits (which fall off and biodegrade)
