Although moles are generally harmless creatures, they will sometimes become a major pest for farmers or gardeners, and given that there is no reliable deterrent for moles, these animals must be caught in traps. The classic mole trap is the Tunnel Trap, which is made up of two galvanised loops which pass through a curved piece of steel. The trap is placed over a mole "run" so that the steel becomes the roof of the tunnel, and moles moving along the run are instantly killed as the loops close around their chests like a mouse trap. Traps like these have been used for decades and have become some of the most respected and instantly recognisable pest control tools in the country.
